Ester

אֶסְתֵּר – Queen Esther, consort of Ahasuerus (Xerxes I) of Persia. Chosen to replace the truculent Queen Vashti, Hadassah of the Tribe of Benjamin became Esther, and inducted into the king’s harem. Through a series of plots and twists, she becomes a voice and savior of the oppressed Jews in the kingdom – a story chronicled in the Book of Esther, in the Bible, One of the five Megillot, the Book of Esther and her story are read on the fast of Ta’anit Ester, during the holiday of Purim.
