Hillel

הלל – Hillel HaZaken, The Elder, also called HaBavli, recalling his Babylonian origins. Eminent scholar and sage in Jerusalem under the reign of King Herod at the beginning of the Common Era (CE). One of the most important scholars of all time, he is the father of both Beit Hillel and a family line of leaders that spanned more than 400 years.
