korban hatat

קרבן חטאת – Sin-offering; atonement for a sin, including minor infractions such as a mistake, or, more severely, deliberate wickedness. The korban hatat is made through ritual sacrifice of an animal with certain qualities prescribed to address the type of transgression. The offering is made in order to purify the one who has transgressed.
