R”i Migash

ר”י מיגאש – Rabbi Joseph ben Meir HaLevi, b.1077 CE, Seville. A leading rabbi of his time, R”i Migash was the head of the renowned rabbinical academy at Lucena, a position he came to at the young age of 26. He died in 1141, head of the academy for 40 years.
