Seder

סדר – “portion”. A section or order of texts in Tanakh or Talmud, into which chapters or tractates are gathered by subject.

The Passover Seder – the festive ceremony and meal on the eve of Pesaḥ during which the Haggadah is read – is likewise a “portion” of texts and ritual gathered together by their relation to Passover.
