Shemot

שמות – “names”. The second book of the Torah, known in English as Exodus, from the Greek ἔξοδος, “to go out”. Sefer Shemot tells of the flight from Egypt and slavery into the desert, led by Moses, the giving of the Ten Commandments, and the construction of the Mishkan.
